PREPS DIGEST: JV, middle schools

JV

* Volleyball: Wayne Country Day d. Greenfield 25-14, 25-10 -- Cate Eagles served 10 aces and dole out five assists during the Chargers' straight-set win. Lexi Jeffreys posted four kills and five aces. Whitney Hoskins registered four kills. Wayne Country Day (9-5 overall) ended up 6-4 against Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference opposition this season.

Middle schools

* Football: Dillard 40, Eastern Wayne 0 -- Aundreas Stokes and Zyrek Hazel each rushed for two touchdowns during Dillard's shutout win. Kemari Vick added one rushing TD. Xavion Atkinson and Devin Nixon each picked off an EW pass. Defensive leaders were Jaikwez Woresly and Shaiheem Robinson with five stops apiece. Dillard (2-0 overall) entertains Grantham on Oct. 5.
