HOLLYWOOD CROSSROADS -- Eastern Wayne emerged victorious in two matches during a 7-2 loss to Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe D.H. Conley on Thursday afternoon.
Ethan Quinn prevailed at No. 3 singles, then teamed with Gray Sasser for a win at No. 3 doubles.
On Wednesday, the Warriors dropped a 5-4 decision to J.H. Rose.
Quinn and Dylan March each picked up a singles point. The doubles winners were the No. 2 duo of Ian Burchett-Walker Davis and No. 3 tandem of March-Gray Sasser.
"I was extremely proud of the way our team fought in the past two matches," EW head coach Craig Hassell said. "They demonstrated tremendous resilience to rebound from a tough loss on Wednesday to Rose to play conference leader Conley a hard match Thursday.
"Every player has exercised a role in making this year successful and represented Eastern Wayne with class."
The Warriors (9-2 overall, 7-2 ECC) entertain D.H. Conley next Monday.
