* Baseball: C.B. Aycock 19, Southern Wayne 2 (5 inn.) -- Blake Gipson batted 3-for-4 and scored three runs during the Golden Falcons' mercy-rule victory at Charles Davis Field. Jordan Gay (two RBI), Luke Frederick (three RBI) and Seth Harrison (two RBI) each contributed two hits. Caleb Matthews, Carson Smitherman, Nick Aycock and Tyrie Artis supplied one hit apiece. Tyler Daniels, Zach Brewer and Davis Carroll each had an RBI. Frederick yielded two runs (one earned) on four hits and logged six strikeouts in a complete-game effort on the bump for CBA.
* Softball: Falls Lake Academy 7, Wayne Christian 5 -- Abigail Kornegay connected on an inside-the-park home run, while Leah Boswell cranked out a double. The Eagles owned a 6-3 advantage in total hits, but couldn't overcome mental and physical miscues. Wayne Christian (0-4 overall) visits Village Christian on Monday.
