Defending 1A state champs defeat WCDS

Eighth-grader Ciara Moore quietly collected a game-high 32 points as Northwood Temple, the reigning N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A state champ, handed Wayne Country Day a 70-26 loss Monday evening.
Backcourt mate Kendal Moore, also an eighth-grader, scored 18 points. Val Pokrovskaya chipped in 16 points.
Wayne Country Day's Lexi Jeffreys just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. TT Ramey contributed seven points and eight rebounds, while Rebecca Edmondson provided five points.
