Eastern Wayne dominated from the opening tip in a 69-28 win over Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference rival New Bern on Thursday night.
The Warriors remained unbeaten at 4-0 overall and 3-0 in ECC play.
Eastern Wayne jumped ahead 17-6 after one quarter and pulled away with six consecutive layups off of New Bern turnovers to open the second. Tiana Christopher sank a 3-point shot to end the rally and pushed the Warriors ahead 32-12 at halftime.
The second half was more of the same as both coaches made plenty of time for their respective reserve players.
Christopher led Eastern Wayne with 11 points. Treycie Ford added 10 points. Megan Mozingo and Shontel Monk each chipped-in eight points.
Eastern Wayne is the guest of Havelock tonight.
