North Lenoir matmen prevail

Eastern Carolina 2-A rivals North Lenoir and Goldsboro battled to a 4-4 draw after the individual matches were contested at Norvell T. Lee Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.
However, the Hawks collected six forfeits against the short-handed Cougars and soared to a 60-24 victory.
Freshman 113-pounder Alex Jones, Brian Heck (126), Luke Wiggins (170) and Mason Wiggins (220) each pinned their respective opponent.
Raekwan Miller, Nick Turner, Feronate Harris, Raeshawn Arrington, Landon Baker and heavyweight Keywan Morgan each drew a forfeit.
Goldsboro's individual winners were D'Qurious Bradford (120), Jamelle James (145), Nicholas Wiley (152) and Deverntay Carmichael (160).
North Lenoir (2-4 overall, 2-2 ECC) returns to action Saturday in the Panther Invitational at North Pitt High School. Goldsboro (0-3, 0-2) will participate in a multi-team dual at Eastern Wayne on Friday.
