No matter the substitution pattern, Goldsboro's chemistry never changed on the court Wednesday evening.

And head coach Patrick Reynell loved every minute of it.

Damarion Henderson poured in a game-high 17 points and nine Cougars scratched in the scoring column overall during an impressive, 79-39 non-conference dismantling of North Lenoir inside a half-full Norvell T. Lee Gymnasium.

Goldsboro (3-5 overall) swept the regular-season series and earned its second home win of the year.

"We have a real hard time as a coaching staff right now because everybody (on the team) can play," said Reynell. "It's hard to find chemistry, but no matter what we put out there tonight, the chemistry never changed. We talked about when you get in the game, let the game come to you and that's what I was pleased about tonight."

Henderson and Octavius Alston, who knocked down 13 points, controlled the glass in the opening quarter. The duo wiped the boards for a combined 10 rebounds and Alston dished out three assists.

The Cougars grabbed an 8-0 lead in the first four minutes.

The Hawks pulled within 8-4 on baskets by Jaquan Williams and Jauquez Jones, but didn't score the remainder of the quarter. Goldsboro reeled off 21 consecutive points for a commanding 29-4 advantage that ballooned to 50-14 by halftime.

North Lenoir had nine first-quarter turnovers and 22 for the game.

"I was pleased to see that juxta-positioned style where we could be really super fast-paced defensively, but under control and turn around to execute offensively," said Reynell. "When it was time to run, we ran. When it was time to pull it out and move the ball, we did."

Goldsboro recorded 19 assists as a team on 32 field goals.

Quavus Holloman, Lonzia Tyson and Jamal George logged nine points apiece for the Cougars. Shahim Muhammad contributed six points, five rebounds, three assists, five steals and one blocked shot in a reserve role.

Billy Summers and Jones paced the winless Hawks' offense with 16 and 14 points, respectively. North Lenoir converted 11 of its 16 made field goals in the second half.
