Archie Monroe Matthis, 72, 50 Union School Road, Clinton, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home of Clinton, with the Rev. Chuck Yancey officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Universalist Church Cemetery.
He was born in 1945, in Durham County, to the late Eugene and Obie Atwood Ezzell Matthis. He was married to Kathy Matthis.
He is survived by a son.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
