HENRY ELLIS CARTER

Henry Ellis Carter, 75, Faison area resident, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 30, in Rocky Mount at Life Care Hospital.
Henry had served in the United States Army, was a retired self-employed carpenter and worshipped with his family at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Tony Ellis Carter; his parents, William Henry Carter and Dora Mae Register Carter; a sister, Betty Holloman; and two brothers, Dick Carter and Danny Ray Carter.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Coley Carter of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa C. and Reed Lewis of Rosewood, Stacy C. and Vidzdan Hadzijahic of Goldsboro, Kelia C. and Alfredo Aguiler of Willow Springs and Shelia C. and Tony Baldwin of Clinton; two sisters, Ann Bohn and husband, Kevin, of Perry, N.Y., and Diane Blackburn of Warsaw; two brothers, Jerry Carter of Warsaw and Ervin Carter and wife, Donna, of Warsaw; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services to celebrate the life of this wonderful man will be Sunday, June 3, at 3 p.m. at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with a time of visitation to follow. Burial will be Monday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. The services will be officiated by the Rev. Jeff Dail and the Rev. Lynn Epps.
The family welcomes and will appreciate flowers or memorial gifts to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Ave., Suite 1100 North,Bethesda, Md., 20814, in honor of Mr. Carter's granddaughter, Lexi Lewis.
