Dennis Jay Lambert, known to most as “Jaybird,” resident of the Indian Springs community, Mount Olive, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, May 19, at his home. He was 64.
His life will be remembered in a service to be Monday, May 21, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, followed by visitation. The Rev. Walter Sloan will be the officiating minister. Burial will be Tuesday, May 22, at 11 a.m. in Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs, with committal by the Rev. Christian Powell.
Family and friends are also being received at the residence.
Jaybird, an avid fisherman, was a longtime employee of Borden Manufacturing Co. Prior to that employment, he worked with Boling Co., and lastly, he worked with Standard Products Co. for several years.
Jaybird is survived by his wife, Linda Grant Lambert of the home; a son, Michael Jay Lambert of Goldsboro; a daughter, Cynthia Michelle L. Rogers and husband, Jason, of Tennessee; a brother, David Earl Lambert and wife, Anne, of Goldsboro; and five grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Alyssa, Emilee and Jase.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Atlas Jay Lambert and Margie Bass Lambert, and a sister, Cathy Ann Carter.
