JOYCE OUTLAW HINSON

Aug. 22, 1933-Feb. 12, 2018

Joyce Evelyn Outlaw Hinson, 84, resident of the Mount Olive community of "Doodletown," passed away Monday afternoon, Feb. 12, at Duke University Hospital.

She was a lovely and lovable lady, so how appropriate that her life be celebrated on Valentine's Day, a day for love.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by her pastor, the Rev. Mark S. Hobbs, followed by visitation. She will be buried Thursday, Feb. 15, in the family cemetery, Trail of Peace Burial Grounds, on the family farm following a noon-time committal.

Flowers are welcome or memorial gifts may be made to Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Jenean P. Kennedy, 1571 Red Hill Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.

Mrs. Hinson was a longtime faithful member of Snow Hill Original Free Will Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir.

She was a "jack-of-all-trades" kind of person with the ability to do many and most things, from being a diligent homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and sister, to assisting her husband as bookkeeper in his many business ventures to even assisting with rounding up farm animals if the need arose, and along with all that, she still found time to share her love and be a friend to her fellow man.

She is survived by her husband, W. Levy Hinson of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon H. and Randy Patterson of Albertson, Lori H. and Michael Ingalls of Kinston and Fran H. and Ricky Bostic of Kenansville; a daughter-in-law, Kay P. Hinson of Mount Olive; beloved grandchildren, Sandy, Clay, Lesley, Kyle, Keneva, Blake, Leah, Brittany, Zach, Candis, Danna and Haley; many loving great-grandchildren; a brother, Linwood M. Outlaw and wife, Joyce, of Mount Olive; two sisters, Doris O. Gadberry of Richmond, Va., and Jo Ann O. Pate and husband, Ricky, of Mount Olive; along with many nieces and nephews.

Loved ones who preceded her in death include two sons, Michael Levy Hinson and Linwood Stoney Hinson; a granddaughter, Mary; her parents, Alonza F. "Lonnie" and Alice Outlaw; sisters, Virginia O. McNaughton, Mary Alice O. Edwards, Reba Jean O. Jones, Ernestine O. Hudson and Lila Mae O. Price; and several nieces and nephews.

A Tyndall service.
