RONNIE TEACHEY

March 12, 1950-Feb. 9, 2018

James Ronnie Teachey, 67, Goldsboro, passed away suddenly Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at his home.

Ronnie was born in Wayne County March 12, 1950, to Jessie Smith Jackson of Goldsboro and the late James William "Bud" Teachey.

A 1968 graduate of New Hope High School, Ronnie began his career at Cherry Hospital, where he worked many years.

Upon his retirement, he spent the rest of his able years farming, which was where his heart was. Whether planting, plowing or picking, his happiest times were on his tractor.

One of his greatest pleasures was taking care of his horse, Ten, even when the day came that he could only watch from his back porch.

Always by his side was his faithful, loving best canine buddy, Cody. He was truly "a man's best friend."

Ronnie was a people person, always surrounded by friends and family. He could always make others laugh, and he will be missed by many friends who enjoyed his company, whether it was for a road trip, a lunch date or a late night phone call.

Ronnie enjoyed attending Ray of Hope Church with his mama, and having professed his faith, he was ready to meet his Lord and Savior.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister in Saulston.

A graveside service will be held Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. in Smith Family Cemetery behind the family home, with the Rev. Tony Kopanski officiating.

He is survived by his mother, Jessie Smith Jackson and stepfather, Gene Jackson; sister, Sharon Lane and husband, Frank; and countless friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Teachey, and grandparents, Bob and Viola Smith.

The family would like to thank special friends, Derald and June Smith and Brad Walston, and cousin, Chris Howell, for their love and support, as well as many others too numerous to name.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Ray of Hope Church, 1331 W. New Hope Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
