BRUCE ANN SMITH

Bruce Ann Price Smith, 77, of Seven Springs, peacefully answered her call to meet her Lord on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018. Bruce Ann was born June 1, 1940, in Wayne County to the late Bruce Price and Mary Ann Barnes Price.
Bruce Ann's love of children and a desire to see them succeed guided her through a 25-year career with Wayne County Public Schools, primarily at Spring Creek Elementary School.
A lady of strong faith, Bruce Ann was a longtime member of Seven Springs Baptist Church. She served her Lord faithfully in a variety of roles.
For Bruce Ann, everything revolved around her family and their well being. She loved her role as matriarch of the family and took great pleasure in spoiling her grandchildren. Her family has many fond memories of times gathered around the family table for Sunday lunch.
Bruce Ann was a lady all about the details. She often told her children that all things should be done properly the first time.
Always in awe of God's beauty, Bruce Ann enjoyed time spent in the North Carolina mountains and North Carolina's Crystal Coast. Bruce Ann took great pride and found much joy in taking care of the landscape surrounding her home. She often spent early mornings on the back porch with a warm cup of coffee reflecting on her upcoming day.
A service to celebrate Bruce Ann's life will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at 2 p.m. from Seven Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rick Rigney officiating. Burial will follow in the Seven Springs Cemetery.
Bruce Ann is survived by her husband of 58 years, Eugene C. Smith; three children, Jason Smith, Mary Kay Best and husband, Tom, and Julie Ann Smith and husband, Tim Hussey; four grandchildren, Laura Ann Gardner and husband, Darren, Annette Smith, Valerie Smith and Aaron Ward; stepgrandchild, Brooks Best; brother, Tim Price and wife, Jackie; and a sister-in-law, Becky Price. In addition to her parents, Bruce Ann was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Price.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.
