ANN H. BROWN

Ann Hardee Brown, 80, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Ann was born in Johnston County April 17, 1937, to the late Wilbur Allen Hardee and Ada Mae Batten Hardee. She was married to the late Edmond Jasper Brown.
Ann had worked as a nurse with Wayne Memorial Hospital, and following her retirement, she worked with the Wayne County Health Department until her retirement for the second time.
She loved Jefferson United Methodist Church, and was a dedicated and faithful servant her entire life.
The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Jefferson United Methodist Church, followed by a service to celebrate Ann's life at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Linda Grider officiating. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Ann is survived by her devoted son, Edmond Jasper "Eddie" Brown II of Goldsboro; grandsons, Casey Rockwell Brown and Charlie Grayson Brown; great-grandson, Tyler Brown; brothers, Billy Gene Hardee and wife, Nancy, W.A. Hardee and wife, Debbie, and James Hardee and wife, Barbara; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Lena and C.A. Strickland and Willie Mae and Henry Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Jefferson United Methodist Church, 1100 N. Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
