Mrs. Kathleen Greenfield, Brooklyn, N.Y., departed this life Jan. 2, 2018, at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Kathleen was the wife of the late David Aron Greenfield, beloved sister of the late Mrs. Singer B. Jackson Jones, sister-in-law of Mr. Freddie Lee Jones of Goldsboro, N.C., sister of Command Sgt. Maj. Milton Jackson, United States Army, and mother of James Edward Jackson, both preceded her in death.
Kathleen was born Aug. 14, 1925, in Lenoir County, N.C., to the late James Berry Jackson and Eula Belle Suggs Jackson Royall.
She attended Snow Hill High School, and in 1945, married the late David Aron Greenfield, and relocated to Brooklyn, N.Y.
Kathleen started her professional career at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, where she retired after 40 years of dedicated service.
Kathleen leaves to cherish her memory a loving granddaughter, Selena Elisabeth Offenberg (Holger Washinski); one great-grandson, Leonardo James Offenberg; devoted brother-in-law, Freddie Lee Jones; eight nieces, Carolyn Jones Palmer (Jason), Shirley Jones Richardson (Harold), Delores Lawrence, Janet Jones, Patricia Jones Hall (Jerry), Jennifer Jackson, Donza Worlds and Dena Pickett (Charlton Judson); two nephews, Jimmie Jones (Yoko) and Jeffreon Jackson; two loving and devoted caregivers, sister Betty Scott and Verna McLean; and a host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
There will be a viewing and time for reflections from 10 to 11 a.m., following immediately with "a celebration of life" at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018; all services will be held at Haskins Funeral Home, 601 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
