BARBARA B. FURMAN

Barbara Betts Furman, 86, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at the home of her daughter while surrounded by her family.
Barbara was born in Chesterfield County, Va., Aug. 30, 1931, to the late David Levitt Betts and Theresa Mary Fraenzel King. She was married to the late Jack Vaughn Furman.
Barbara had worked as a truck driver for Safeway Grocery Stores for many years, and later worked with Wayne County Public Schools as a bus driver.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, followed by a service to celebrate Barbara's life at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary, with Bishop Garry Waters presiding. Interment will be Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at 3 p.m. in Washington Memorial Cemetery.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Monica Briggs and husband, Mike, of Fremont and Theresa Moon and husband, Dan, of Rustburg, Va.; sister, Ann Beasley; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren.
