BILLY RAY BOYETTE

Billy Ray Boyette, 68, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at his home.
Billy was born in Wake County Aug. 16, 1949, to Grayson Boyette and Catherine Outlaw Boyette.
He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 30 years, Barbara Knox Boyette.
Billy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a valued employee of Wrangler Jeans Co. in Wilson, where he retired after many years of service.
Family was paramount to Billy, and he loved spending time with them, and was very proud of each of them. He will be missed, but greatly remembered.
The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 5, 2017, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Billy's life at 3 p.m. in the chapel, with his uncle, the Rev. Rudolph Outlaw, officiating. Interment will be in Mays Chapel Church Cemetery with military honors.
Billy is survived by his brother, Tommy Boyette and wife, Amy, of Raleigh; sister, Linda Boyette Sullivan and husband, Hardy, of Goldsboro; brother, David Massengill and wife, Gail, of Four Oaks; sister-in-law, Peggy Knox Colman and husband, Randy, of Dunn; nephews, Eric Grayson Boyette and Hardy Sullivan Jr. and wife, Kim; nieces, Allison Boyette Stephenson and husband, Alex, and Jennifer Hope Sullivan Glass and husband, Jason; great-nephews, Nicholas Gray Sullivan and Grant Howard Stephenson; great-nieces, Erin Glass Shuman and husband, Tyler, Alx Glass and Gracie Glass; great-great-nieces, Olivia Shuman and Hallie Glass; a special aunt, Leatrice Boyette of Smithfield; and a special uncle, the Rev. Rudolph Outlaw of Hubert.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Outlaw Boyette; father, W. Grayson Boyette and his wife, Grace; paternal grandparents, L. Aaron and Ella Caison Boyette; and maternal grandparents, Jule Benjamin and Telsy Barwick Outlaw.
