Albert Daniel Edwards, 34, Raleigh, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017.
He was born March 11, 1983, and was the son of Annie Lenora Sullivan and Philip Curtis Edwards Sr.
He was preceded in death by a paternal grandmother, Marie Edwards; maternal grandfather, Shad Herring; an uncle, Ricky Fail; and cousin, Walton Sullivan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at 4 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Ralph Parker officiating. Burial will take place in Princeton Cemetery Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at 9 a.m.
Mr. Edwards had served his country with 10 years of active duty with the United States Army. During that time, he completed two combat tours of Iraq.
He served six years with the 3rd ACR at Fort Hood, Texas. He was currently serving with the 340th Psychological Operation Company, N.C.
For the past three years, Mr. Edwards was employed with the North Carolina Department of Corrections Office at Central Prison. He had previously worked with Johnston County Department of Corrections.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by brothers, Philip Curtis Edwards Jr. and wife, Miranda, of Greenville and Joseph Grey Edwards and fianceé, Tiffany Stewart of Princeton; maternal grandmother, Christine Herring of Princeton; paternal grandfather, Calvin Edwards of Goldsboro; maternal grandfather, Jarvis Sullivan of Goldsboro; great-aunt, Geraldine Dudley; aunt, Tammie Fail; uncle, Lavan Sullivan and wife, Nancy; cousins, Rebecca, Noah, Leann and Ross; and his canine companion, Sir Luke Maximus.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Casey Funeral Home chapel.
