Betty Ruth Dail Evans, 81, Pikeville, passed away at Kitty Askins Hospice Center Thursday evening.
She was the daughter of the late Gurney and Pearl Dail, and was the widow of the late Lonnie Ralph Evans.
She was a homemaker, and attended Patetown Church of God.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Marvin Wiggins officiating. Committal services will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Evans is survived by a daughter, Angie Bappert and husband, David, of Pikeville; a son, David Evans of Pikeville; a brother, Bobby Dail and wife, Annette, of Goldsboro; two sisters, Lily Rose Combs and Clarice Smith both of Goldsboro; and four grandchildren, Amanda Bappert, Christopher Bappert, Kevin Bappert and Stacy Evans.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Ralph Evans; three brothers, Roy Dail, Bud Dail and Cliffton Dail; and two sisters, Dessire Lipscomb and Irene Collier.
