Martha Patillo Wolfe, 87, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro, N.C.
Martha was born in Burlington Sept. 6, 1928, to the late Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Patillo.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Mr. Edward Patillo.
Her years of employment included school administrative offices in both Burlington and Goldsboro. She was very active in her church, and after retiring, she volunteered in various community service activities. Most of all, she loved her Lord Jesus Christ, her family and her friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Jennette of Raleigh and Kathy Newsome of Clayton; son, Tom Wolfe and his wife, Laura Wolfe, of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Amanda Newsome Williams of Goldsboro and Thomas, Sawyer and Anna Wolfe of Wake Forest; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Michelle and Sam Williams of Goldsboro; sisters-in-law, Jackie Patillo of Burlington and Sarah Buchanan of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Kay Wolfe of Raleigh; three nieces; and four nephews.
A graveside service will be held for the family in Burlington Saturday, July 23, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 24, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Goldsboro, N.C., with the family receiving friends before the service at 2:30 p.m.
