EDNA E. HOLLOMON

Edna Earl Hollomon died Oct. 28 at home.
She was born in Wayne County Feb. 6, 1932, to the late Leslie and Bessie Cox Hollomon.
Edna attended the Wayne County public schools, and graduated from Dillard High School class of 1952.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Geraldine Hollomon Peterson; a sister, Bessie Ruth Hollomon Williams; a sister-in-law, Almeta Edwards Holloman; a long-time companion, Edward Backnall; two grandchildren, Kevin and Sean Peterson; four great-grandchildren, Kevani Peterson, Kai Peterson, Melania Peterson and DaShawn Peterson; four nephews; three nieces; and a host of other relative and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. James AME Church, 206 S. George St. Interment will follow in St. John AME Church Cemetery, 584 Pecan Road, Dudley.
A public visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home from 2 to 7 p.m., with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
Hamilton Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
