First Sgt. Maj. James Lee Elliott, 79, died Tuesday, at Fayetteville VA Medical Center.
Funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro with full military honors. Interment will be at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery at 2 p.m.
He was born in Wayne County to Ethel Reid Elliott and the late John Elliott.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter.
Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m., at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his mother, Ethel Elliott, 104 Ballance Road in Fremont.
