BETTY JEAN ROBERTS
April 12, 1944-April 25, 2015
Betty Jean Burnie Roberts, resident of Mount Olive, passed away Saturday evening, April 25, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was 71.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church, with pastor Dusty Sprouse officiating, followed by visitation. Interment will be at Devotional Gardens of Warsaw in a private setting.
Family and friends are also being received at the Jamie Roberts residence, 602 Foxwood Drive, Goldsboro.
Mrs. Roberts, a retired secretary with Wayne County Health Department, worshipped at Providence Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Eldridge Roberts; her parents, Harold and Emma Jane Haywood Burnie; a sister, Paulette Wilson; and a brother, Edward "Slim Burnie.
She is survived by three sons and their wives, Dwayne Allen Roberts and Cathy Roberts of Newton Grove, Dwight Scott Roberts and Suzanne Roberts of Carolina Beach and Jamie Elwin Roberts and Tina Roberts of Goldsboro; five grandchildren, Kristen Michelle Stone, Malissa S. Roberts, Megan Tyndall, Devon J. Roberts and Jordan Roberts; two great-grandchildren, Emma Stone and Callie Ann Stone; several nieces and nephews; and the in-laws from the Roberts family.
Arrangements are in the care of Tyndall Funeral Home.
