Winfred Edward Pierce, 87, died Saturday.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Temple AME Zion Church in Grifton, with pastor Andre Greene officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Estates in Ayden.
He was born April 27, 1926, to the late Jesse and Ina Estelle Pierce Kornegay. He was married to the late Thelma Louise Hardy Pierce.
He is survived by a daughter and a son.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Don Brown Funeral Home in Ayden. The family will receive friends at other times at the home.
