LAGRANGE -- Kristin Lynn Hardy, 28, of LaGrange, was promoted to Heaven on Friday, June 28, 2013.
Kristin was born Sept. 16, 1984, in Wayne County to Gail Nations Parker and the late Keith Scott Hardy.
She graduated from North Lenoir High School in 2003 and was a member of Institute United Methodist Church.
Kristin easily made friends, and had a way of making everyone feel special, which served her well in working with autistic children through Small Miracles. She enjoyed communicating with the many people who were part of her "Cyster" group on Facebook. Kristin liked to wear her pajamas almost anywhere and loved making jewelry.
A service to remember Kristin's life will be held Monday, July 1, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ray Teague officiating.
Interment will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery.
A wonderful and loving mother, daughter, sister and grandchild, Kristin is survived by her daughter, Presley Scott Hardy; mother and stepfather, Gail Nations Parker and Danny Parker; sister, Kali Hill and husband, Travis; step-brother, Daniel Parker; paternal grandparents, Robert E. "Bob" Hardy and Peggy Fox Hardy; maternal grandparents, Lois Tillman, Charles A. Nations and his friend, Beverly Etheridge; a niece and nephew who called her "Nonie," Sophie Hardy and Gage Hill; nine cousins, Carl Goodman, Amanda Rhodes, Zachary Goodman, Brittany Evans, Brinson Rhodes, Olivia Evans, Stephanie Yawn, Andrew Yawn and Joshusa Yawn; aunts and uncles, Phyllis Goodman, Debbie and Lennie Lipscomb, Kelly and Mike Yawn and Morris Goodman; and a great aunt and uncle, Brenda and Jim Fleming.
The family will receive friends Monday following the service, and at other times they will be at the home.
Kristin's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Medical ICU, Cardio-Pulmonary Department and the many physical therapists at UNC Hospitals for their loving care and support.
