MICHAEL LEVY HINSON
June 9, 1952-July 5, 2012
MOUNT OLIVE -- Michael Levy Hinson, 60, passed away Thursday, July 5, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville after a brief illness.
Born June 9, 1952, he was the son of William levy and Joyce Outlaw Hinson of Mount Olive.
Michael loved and cherished his family; his grandchildren were his greatest joy.
Married to the love of his life for 42 years, Kay Price Hinson, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend.
He will be especially remembered for his witty humor, gentle touch with animals and great appreciation for nature.
He had a great love for riding and training horses. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren as they learned to ride and care for horses.
Michael had a lifelong career as a paint contractor in Wilmington.
He was a member of Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church, and also attended Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by two children, Sandy Hinson Price and husband, Jason Price, of Seven Springs and Michael Clay Hinson and wife, Shelly Hinson, of Mount Olive.
God blessed Michael with four grandchildren, Raven Brock, Mikayla Price, Blain Hinson and Kolby Hinson.
Also surviving are his brother, Stoney Hinson of Mount Olive; three sisters, Sharon H. Patterson and husband, Randy, of Albertson, Lori H. Ingalls and husband, Michael, of Kinston and Fran H. Bostic and husband, Ricky, of Kenansville; his father-in-law, Carl Ray Price of Seven Springs; mother-in-law, Cynthia Jarman Howard of Albertson; sister-in-law, Joy Williams and husband, Larry, of Mount Olive; brothers-in-law, Tony Ray Price and wife, Stephanie, of Mount Olive and Preston Howard and wife, Lisa, of Burlington; and two close horse-loving friends, Wilson Head and L.R. Rouse.
Services will be held Saturday, July 7, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Jeff Dail and the Rev. Mark Hobbs, and followed by visitation. Burial will be Sunday, July 8, at 6 p.m. at the family cemetery at the residence, 443 Red Hill Road, Mount Olive (at Sandy Clay Farms.)
