Phillis Mary Babin Corrow, 83, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Countryside Living in Pikeville.

Phillis was born in Caribou, Maine, Oct. 31, 1928, to the late Charles and Eva Martin Babin. She was married to the late Jasper Corrow.

Phillis retired after 30 years of service as a sales clerk at JCPenney.

She also was a loving caregiver, who cared for a mentally-challenged brother for many years.

Phillis also moved in with her parents to care for them until their deaths.

She was a lifetime member of the Lister-Knowlton Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 9389 in Caribou, Maine, where she held several offices.

A service remembering Phillis will be held Friday, May 25, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dann Patrick officiating.

The family will greet friends Friday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.

Phillis is survived by her daughters, Judy DePalantino and husband, Joseph, of Goldsboro, Verna Johnson of Caribou, Maine, and Naida Johnson and husband, Victor, of Gardner, Mass.; her son, Melvin Johnson and wife, Alla, of Kennebunk, Maine; her brothers, Donnie Babin of Blaine, Maine, Roland Babin and wife, Linda, of Caribou, Maine, and Frank Babin and wife, Rita, of West Boxford, Mass.; her grandchildren, Sheryl Van Horn and husband, Adam, of Acworth, Ga., Melissa Brady and husband, Richie, of Princeton, Benjamin Johnson, Natalie Johnson and newborn twins, Sophia and Alexander Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Caden Van Horn, Ella Van Horn and Ian Brady; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

The family of Mrs. Corrow would like to express its most sincere appreciation to the staff of Countryside Village for the loving care she received during her stay.
