James Randall Daughtry, 85, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2012, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Hephzibah Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home today from 6 until 8 p.m.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Mr. Daughtry was born on Nov. 3, 1926, to the late Riley Kimble Daughtry Sr. and Elsie Woodard Daughtry. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Ryan Peedin, and his siblings, Thelma Rains, Irene Mozingo, R.K. Daughtry Jr., Elsie Mae Sutton and Bethany Daughtry.
Mr. Daughtry was a very active member of Hephzibah Baptist Church, currently serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher and formerly as the choir director. He was the director of the Community Gospel Singers for 25 years and was the chairman of the Board of Directors for the Brogden Fire Department. He and his wife operated Daughtry's Upholstery for over 40 years.
Surviving are his wife of almost 64 years, Marjorie Aycock Daughtry; children, Bobby and Wanda Daughtry of Princeton, Nancy and Danny Peedin of Princeton and Billy and Mary Daughtry of Pine Level; grandchildren, Jamie Daughtry and wife, Sandy, Jeremey Daughtry and wife, Rachel, Jason Peedin, Tyler Daughtry and Mary Margaret Daughtry; and great-grandchildren, Travis, Madison and Emma Daughtry, Samantha and Mandy Austin.
Flowers are appreciated, or memorials may be made to the Randall Daughtry Memorial Fund at Hephzibah Baptist Church or the Brogden Fire Department.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the second floor staff of Johnston Health for the excellent care that they provided.
