MOUNT OLIVE --Johnnie Deryle Wiggins, 75, 228 Hatch's Hill Road, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, May 15, while a patient at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held Friday, May 18, at 11 a.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Blanche S. Pollard officiating. Interment will be in the Hatch Family Cemetery at the home with Masonic rites.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday, May 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., and at the home at other times.
Mr. Wiggins, a retired mechanic with Freeman Auto in Mount Olive, was also retired from the United States Navy. He had been employed with the town of Mount Olive.
He was a member of Salem Advent Christian Church, and Mount Olive Masonic Lodge 208, A.F. & A.M.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Hatch Wiggins of the home; a son, Roy Wiggins and wife, Lisa, of California; a daughter, Holly Lynn Wiggins of Mount Olive; a granddaughter, Sophia Wiggins; and five sisters, Gretchel Moore of Grantham, Faye Whitfield of Dudley, Louise Feurer of Goldsboro, Gail Rogers of Dunn and Charity Cannova.
Family members preceding him in death included his parents, Edward and Eva Price Wiggins; two brothers, Wade Wiggins and Nelson Wiggins; and two sisters, Margaret Sutton and Ann Bohart.
