Joseph Graham Surles III, 55, passed away on Thursday at his home.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Joey was born in Wayne County on Nov. 28, 1956, to Joseph Graham Surles Jr. and Rebecca Ann Matthews Surles. He was employed with Cooper-Standard. Joey enjoyed fishing and had a great love for cats and dogs.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Teresa Ann Edwards and husband, Al, and Linda Jo Ann Wegman and husband, Mark; his brother, James Michael Surles; his nephews, Alvie Edwards and wife, Breena, Douglas Wegman, Tyler Wegman, and Dylan Surles; and his great-nephew, Carter Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, P.O. Box 821, Goldsboro, NC 27533.
