LaGRANGE -- Jerry Lee Gray, 56, of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012.
A graveside service of remembrance will be held Monday, May 14, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Gray Family Cemetery with the Rev. Tony McLamb officiating.
Jerry was born July 12, 1955, in Wayne County to Mildred Williams Gray of LaGrange and the late Robert "Red" Gray. In addition to his father, Jerry was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Gray Gay. Jerry graduated from New Hope High School and was a member of Walnut Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church. Jerry retired from the city of Goldsboro following 25 years of service. Jerry had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed time spent on the farm, working in the garden and tending to his cows. He also enjoyed being on the open road riding his Harley-Davidson.
In addition to his mother, Jerry is survived by a brother, Ronnie Gray of Greensboro; sister, Eleanor Evans of LaGrange; brother-in-law, Joe Gay of LaGrange; three nephews and a niece, Robbie Radford, Jason Gay, Kevin Gray and Jessica Taylor; his caregiver and special friend, Rebecca Moore; a special cousin, Randy Gray of LaGrange; along with his beloved canine companion, Sue.
The family will receive friends at the home of his mother and following the graveside service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.
