CURTIS WAYNE HOOKS JR.

Curtis Wayne Hooks Jr., beloved son of Nona Mayo Hooks of Fremont and the late C. Wayne Hooks Sr., passed Tuesday morning at home.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Hooks family plot at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont, with Rudolph West Jr. officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.

A native of Wayne County, Mr. Hooks served his country proudly in Vietnam.

After his service in the United States Air Force, Mr. Hooks returned home and worked at Bridgestone Firestone in Wilson until his retirement.

He was a Corvette enthusiast and an animal lover.

He will be remembered by many dear friends, whose expressions of sympathy are deeply appreciated.

Mr. Hooks is survived by two daughters, Ericka Simmons of Wilson and Christina Copersito of Apex; an infant grandson, Colton Simmons; a brother, Mike Hooks and wife, Cathie, of Goldsboro; two nephews, Michael Hooks Jr. and wife, Leigh, and Jon Hooks and wife, Jenny, of Cary; a great-nephew, Ryan Michael Hooks; two aunts, Treva Barbour of Nashville and Sarah Massaro and husband, Fred, of California; and numerous cousins.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to First Missionary Baptist Church at 410 S. Goldsboro, St., Fremont, N.C., 27830.
