EDNA H. HOOKS

Edna Howell Hooks, 78, died Sunday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Brady McClenny Howell.
A service to celebrate her life will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy Creel and the Rev. Rudolph Britt officiating. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. Family members will greet friends this evening immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Married to Edsel G. Hooks, they enjoyed 58 years and 10 months of wonderful, wonderful times together. She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Leland and Brenda Howell of Goldsboro; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Howell of Pikeville and Layune and Ray Taylor of Goldsboro; brothers-in-law, Tommy Hooks, Aaron and Betty Hooks, all of Goldsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
