GERALDINE G. MEWBORN

SNOW HILL -- Geraldine Ginn Mewborn, 80, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. A native of Greene County, she was born Aug. 16, 1931, the daughter of Ira Ulysses Ginn and Lucy Mae Taylor Ginn. A lifelong resident of Greene County, Mrs. Mewborn was a member of Harrell's Chapel FWB Church and operated the E.B. Mewborn Store for many years.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 9, at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Rev. Ronnie Mohn and the Rev. Stephen Gay officiating. Interment will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mewborn was preceded in death by a son, Earl Brantley Mewborn III, and brothers, Von Ginn, Joffre Ginn, and Ullmon Ginn Sr.
Her surviving family includes her husband, E.B. Mewborn; daughter, Shari Mewborn of Knightdale; and grandchildren, Brantley Mewborn Cooper, Arend Stratton Cooper and Amelia Bryn Victoria Cooper.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the Mewborn residence, 2964 Fort Run Road, Snow Hill.
