SALLIE BELLE WOMBLE CARTER
Sallie Belle Womble Carter, 89, passed away peacefully May 3, 2012 at The Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, N.C.
Sallie was born in Duplin County on March 9, 1923 to the late Jim and Mamie Womble. She was a retired LPN who resided in Goldsboro before moving closer to family in Gastonia, N.C., in 2005.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 6, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Sallie was survived by her sons, Niven Burton Carter and Calvin Raeford and wife, Alice Carter; her six grandchildren, Brian Carter (Connie); Cathy Jarrett (Ken); Steven Carter; Kim Carter (Detlef Hudson); Calvin Carter (Cyndi); Kelly Carter Ellis (Courtney); her nine great-grandchildren, Austin Sigmon (Kyle); Ashley Carter; Cory Jarrett; Casey Jarrett; Michael Cordova; Marta Correll; Chancelor Ellis; Jack Carter; Bella Carter. Special friends: Sid Correll, Alvin Correll and Elaine Padgett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Raeford Warrick Carter, and her sister, Mattie Womble.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful and caring staff who took great care of our mother and mamama while at the Robin Johnson Hospice House.
