JESSE PAUL SASSER

ROSEWOOD -- Jesse Paul Sasser, 76, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012.
He was born in Wayne County June 7, 1935, and truly enjoyed life from that day forward.
A native of Rosewood, he was the son of the late Clarence and Lillian Sasser.
He was the last living male charter member of Rosewood First Baptist Church.
Jesse Paul lived a life of dedication to his family and friends and to his community.
A service to celebrate Jesse Paul's life will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Vernon Braswell and the Rev. Kent Boone officiating. Burial will follow the service at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Peggy Gurley Sasser; a son, Danny Paul Sasser and wife, Jenean; two daughters, Jan Sasser Holmes and husband, Ted, and Kim Sasser Hill and husband, Jeff; seven grandchildren, Dana Sasser Head and husband, Jeffrey, Jeremy Sasser, Justin Sasser, Joshua Holmes and wife, Jodi, Jesse Holmes, Dawn Hill and Nikki Hill; three great-grandchildren, Danton Head, Paislee Head and Janna Holmes; three sisters, Ruth Davis, Carolyn Braswell and husband, Henry, and Marjorie Forbes; and a brother, Kenneth Eugene Sasser and Rudine.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, L.J. Sasser and wife, Loraine; a sister, Johnnie Bass; and a great friend and brother-in-law, Kit Forbes and Pat Davis.
He was the owner of Sasser Distributing Co., and was proud to have started his other businesses, Rosewood Junction, Sasser Golf Cars and Scooters Unlimited.
Known most for his giving nature with never expecting return, he loved helping people, and will always be remembered for his kind heart. He taught many life lessons, but especially the importance of honesty, integrity and commitment.
He had a great love for collecting old cars and spending time with family and friends, who all recognized him as the family jokester.
The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to everyone during Jesse's illness, and will always cherish the special friendship he had with Dr. Lee McCaskill and staff and a lifetime friend, Aaron Ginn; and we also appreciate the loving care given to him by Cindy Hill, Lisa Lewis and Susan Martin.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 4, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
