Mr. Kenneth Darius Bagley, 65, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Ken," of 700 South Taylor St., graciously departed his life on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at noon at the St. Mark Church Of Christ, 700 W. Ash St., with Bishop Alton A. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, 306 E. Elm St.
Kenneth was born in Wayne County on June 13, 1946, to the late Josephine McKinley Bagley and Walter Leo Bagley.
Darius attended Wayne County Public Schools and graduated from Dillard High School in 1964.
Kenneth worked with the O'Berry Center and Wayne County Public School System.
A first public viewing will be held today at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, from 2 until 5 p.m. Also, a second public viewing will be held on Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at St. Mark Church of Christ, from 11 until 11:50 a.m., with the family present to receive friends and other family members.
Darius leaves to mourn his sister, Jo A. Hunter; his brother, Shelton Ray Bagley and wife, Yvonne; a nephew, Elder Andre' Raysean Hunter and wife, Brenda; three grandnieces, Daijah Hunter, J'nya Hunter and Laila Hunter; three special cousins; Jean Ward and husband, Larry, Brenda Wells and husband, Donald, and Daniel Thompson and wife, Yolanda; a special friend, Janice Armstrong; a goddaughter, Malika Thomas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
At other times, the family will receive friends and other family members at 210 House St., where family and friends will also assemble, one hour prior to the funeral, at 10 a.m., in preparation for the funeral procession.
