MOUNT OLIVE -- Audrey Whitfield Price, 89, died Sunday in Florida.
Graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Richard Hill officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday night, 7-8 p.m., and at the home of Jay and Ruth Whitfield, 3236 Summerlin's Crossroads Road in Mount Olive, at other times.
Mrs. Price, a native of and former longtime resident of Rones Chapel community near Mount Olive, was a member of Rones Chapel Methodist Church.
She was also a member of the auxiliary of American Legion Post 103 in Mount Olive, and had been a former president.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Price; her parents, Joseph Leonard Whitfield and Mary Garner Whitifeld; a brother, Randall Whitfield; and a granddaughter, Chelsie Price.
She is survived by a son, Mark Price of Weaverville, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Cathy Price Hickman of Guyton, Ga.; two stepsons, Terry Price of Alabama and Jerry Price of Baton Rouge, La.; a sister, Georgia W. Bowers of Mount Olive; a brother, Joseph L. "Jay" Whitfield, Jr. and wife, Ruth, of Mount Olive; and eight grandchildren.
