MARSHALL H. TROUBLEFIELD

Died Feb. 8, 2010

FAISON -- Marshall Hargrove Troublefield, 66, 8261 Faison Highway, died Monday at his home after a two-year batter with cancer.

The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Earl Smith, the Rev. Jeff Dail and father Fernando Torres officiating. An interment service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Troublefield Family Cemetery, Giddensville Road in Faison.

Mr. Troublefield, born in Wayne County, was the son of Mae Hargrove Troublefield and the late Marshall Monk Troublefield.

He was a truck broker with Rankin Truck Brokers and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

He attended East Carolina University, where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.

He is survived by his wife, Joan B. Troublefield of the home; two daughters, Kimberly Troublefield Mitchell and husband, Tommy, of Raleigh and Mary Monk Troublefield and fiancé, Bart Byrd, of Mount Olive; a son, Benjamin Aaron Troublefield and wife, Emily, of Snow Hill; three grandchildren, Jordan Nicole Mitchell and Jacob Phillip Mitchell both of Raleigh and Madison Grace Troublefield of Snow Hill; baby-to-be, Luke Emerson Byrd, and his mother, Mae H. Troublefield of Faison; two sisters, Ann Troublefield Nelson of Greenville, S.C., and Gerarde Troublefield Sutton of Newport News, Va.; and his dog, Marley.

Mr. Troublefield was preceded in death by a son, Marshall Alex Troublefield, and a brother, Benjamin Rufus Troublefield.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and other times at the home.
