FREMONT -- Clinton Langston, 78, died Sunday at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sherwood Howell, pastor of Pentecostal Christian Assembly, and the Rev. Jerry Andrews, pastor of Goldsboro Worship Center, officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Clinton was born in Wayne County Nov. 8, 1930, to the late Dewbell Langston and Nancy Smith Langston.

He retired from the State of North Carolina and was a former member of Kenly Church of God and a member of the Pentecostal Christian Assembly.

Clinton is survived by his wife, Nellie Hester Langston; his son, Tim Langston and wife, Wanda, of Fremont; his daughter, Subrina L. Church and husband, Garrett, of Fremont; and two grandchildren, Rebecca Church and Maggie Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Blanche Lee and Dollie Hamm, and his brothers, Oliver Langston, Charles Langston and Carl Langston.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, Va., 22038-1132.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service at the funeral home and other times at his home, 396 Union Grove Church Road, Fremont.
