Christopher Horne, recently hired Goldsboro High School principal, met this past week with staff at the school. Wayne County Public Schools has scheduled five meet-and-greet opportunities for parents and community members to speak with him on Monday.
Several opportunities to meet the new Goldsboro High School principal will be held this week around the community, Wayne County Public Schools officials announced.
Christopher Horne, who took over the administrative role this past week, is scheduled to be at five locations during the day on Monday.
"This week I had the opportunity to meet with my staff, sitting down with 11th and 12th grade student leaders and begin getting out into the community," he said. "I look forward to these upcoming meet-and-greet events to meet with more students, families, and community members.
"I believe these events will be a great way to introduce myself to the public, provide me opportunities to listen and learn from stakeholders, and ultimately become the first steps to working together with my school community to cultivate a shared vision for the future of Goldsboro High."
The public is invited to the floating sessions. At the beginning of each, Horne will take a few minutes to introduce himself and his family, followed by an informal time of meeting and mingling with those who attend.
He will be at the following locations on Monday:
• 1-1:45 p.m., Eastern Carolina Regional Housing Authority Education Building, 2114 S. Slocumb St.
• 2-2:30 p.m., W.A. Foster Center, 1012 S. John St.
• 3-3:45 p.m., Fairview Community Center, 1906 Edgerton St.
• 4-4:45 p.m., Lincoln Community Center, 1009 Slaughter St.
• 6:30-8 p.m., Wayne County Public Library auditorium, 1001 E. Ash St.
