Seymour Johnson airman dies after being injured Sunday

Full SizeA Seymour Johnson Air Force Base airman has died in a hospital in Germany after a "non-combat related incident" left him injured, according to a press release from Seymour Johnson public affairs.
Staff Sgt. James T. Grotjan, a member of the 4th Civil Engineering Squadron, died yesterday at the Landsthul Regional Medical Center in Germany from injuries sustained Sunday in a non-combat related incident at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates.
"This is was a tragic event and our thoughts are with the family, friends and teammates of James," said Col. Donn Yates, 4th Fighter Wing commander. "He was an integral part of our team and our hearts are heavy with his loss."
The exact nature of Grotjan's injury has not yet been disclosed, and the incident is still under investigation, according to the press release.
Grotjan was deployed supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.
