Man arrested for rash of break-ins

A suspect wanted in connection with a rash of break-ins in the Mount Olive area was arrested Sunday by Wayne County sheriff deputies.
The break-ins were reported throughout the town from June 5 through 29, according to Mount Olive police.
An investigation launched by Mount Olive police resulted in the arrest of Linwood Legrande West Jr., 26, of 104 Shell Drive, Mount Olive, who was located at a Dudley residence and apprehended by Wayne County sheriff deputies.
West was charged with two counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of felony breaking and entering, six counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering, and six counts of injury to real property.
He was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $232,000 secured bond.
"The arrest of West was the result of a very thorough investigation by investigators of the Mount Olive Police Department," said Police Chief Tommy Brown, with the Mount Olive Police Department.
