Ben Farlow has been named the new manager of Goldsboro Event Center.
A native of Greensboro, he joins the Event Center with more than 20 years of hospitality, marketing and management experience.
Farlow has lived in Goldsboro since 2005, and has been actively involved with city entertainment and improvement efforts with several city and county departments, including Goldsboro Parks and Recreation.
He was chairman of the Recreation Advisory Commission. He designed and installed the Kiwanis disc golf course at Berkeley Park and founded the Goldsboro Disc Golf Club.
As the manager of Goldsboro Event Center, Farlow will be responsible for administrative and professional work through planning, organizing, promoting and managing the operations of the center. He will schedule, contract and manage all events, provide resources and support to renters, oversee facility and grounds maintenance and supervise all staff, under the general direction of Paramount Theatre director Sherry Archibald.
"We are thrilled to have Ben Farlow join the team," she said. "He brings many years of experience from the restaurant, bar and catering industry, as well as customer service and staff management. He is dedicated to this community and recognizes the role of a public servant. I am excited to see what he brings to the venue."
Farlow said, "It has been a passion and an honor to help serve and improve the quality of life for the citizens of Goldsboro over the last few years. I am very thankful for this opportunity to continue doing so in this new capacity. As Goldsboro continues to make great strides for its inhabitants toward completion of its rehabilitation master plan, I look forward to serving those people to the best of my ability."
