Goldsboro man dies in head-on collision

A Goldsboro man died in an early morning wreck when his pick-up truck collided with with a tractor-trailer on N.C. 111.
Shortly after 5:30 a.m. today, Bradley Keith Nelson, 26, 1800 E. Walnut St., was driving north along Broadhurst Bridge when he crossed the center line, said North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Shane Smith.
Nelson's 1998 Toyota pick-up truck then hit a Butterball tractor-trailer head-on. According to highway patrol, Nelson died at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Ronnie Gene Gardner, 53, of Goldsboro, was not injured in the crash.
Nelson also worked at the Butterball plant in Mount Olive.
A section of N.C. 111 was closed for two hours following the crash.
