Barton College art competition recognizes two local students

Two Parrott Academy art students from Wayne County were recently recognized at the Annual Eastern/Central North Carolina Scholastic Art Competition at Barton College.
Middle and upper school students earned a combined total of 50 Gold Key, Silver Key and Honorable Mention awards.
Senior Catherine Denton won a Gold Award for her submission, "Pain is Beauty" and the Wilson Times Award for "Grown Up," and a Silver Award for her portfolio, "Observation."
Junior Jeff Bland received a Silver Award for his entry, "Capt. Hushpuppy."
As Gold and Silver Key Award winners, they will have their artwork exhibited in the Barton College galleries. Many of the submissions are also featured online at http://www.barton.edu/galleries/scholastic-art-awards/
