Tornado warning issued for southern Wayne County

A tornado warning for southern Wayne County is in effect until 3:45 p.m.
At 3:12 p.m. a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Mount Olive moving east at 35 miles per hour.
Radar had indicated rotation.
Locations impacted include Mount Olive, Walnut Creek, Seven Springs, Cliffs of the Neuse State Park and Brogden.
Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes could be damaged or destroyed, according to the National Weather Service.
Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles may occur. Tree damage may be likely.
Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
