Man shot, killed on Dupont Circle

A Sunday night shooting that left a 27-year-old man dead is being investigated as a homicide.

Just before 11 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department B-Shift Patrol responded to the area of 147 Dupont Circle in reference to a call of shots being fired.

When they arrived they found Terrell James, whose last known address is reported as 112 E. Elm St., lying in the front yard of 149 Dupont Circle.

James, who had an apparent gunshot wound to the upper left side of his chest, was pronounced dead by EMS.

The weapon is believed to have been a handgun.

Several rounds were fired. A vehicle and occupied dwelling also were struck by gunfire.

Goldsboro police are investigating a Sunday night shooting that left a man dead.

Just before 11 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department B-Shift Patrol responded to the area of 147 Dupont Circle in reference to a call of shots being fired where they found Terrell James laying in the front yard of 149 Dupont Circle.

James was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead by EMS.

James' death is being investigated as a homicide.
