Man shot on Slocumb Street Friday

Goldsboro police secure an area where a man was shot in the abdomen on Slocumb Street early Friday night.
Goldsboro police are investigating the Friday afternoon shooting of a Smithfield man.
Police responded to the 100 block of North Slocumb Street just before 6 p.m. Friday following a Shot Spotter alert.
When officers arrived they found Marlon Nyelle Johnson, 20, of Smithfield, lying in the grassy area on the west side of the street.
Johnson was taken to Wayne UNC Health Care by Wayne County Medic 4.
Hospital officials said their only information on Johnson was that he had been discharged.
