Traffic stops net several weekend drug arrests

Full SizeSpecialized law enforcement teams made several drug arrests over the weekend, filing charges for marijuana, MDMA and other illegal substances.
The Goldsboro/Wayne Regional Enforcement and Crime Targeting (REACT) Team arrested two people for marijuana and MDMA possession Saturday in two separate traffic stops in the city.
Tyquan Sherak Singleton, 25, of 894 Pecan Road, Dudley, was stopped by the REACT Team on North William Street for traffic violations.
Officers smelled marijuana coming from the car during the stop.
Because of this, they searched Singleton and reportedly found MDMA, marijuana and paraphernalia on him.
Singleton was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, possession of MDMA, felony maintaining a vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
He was given a $6,000 secured bond.
The second arrest came during a traffic stop Saturday evening on West Grantham Street.
Members of the REACT Team stopped a car for a traffic violation and reportedly saw contraband inside the car during the stop.
The driver and passenger, identified as Deonta Shakee James and Myelle Javonte Langston, respectively, were searched.
A sheriff's office report said James had 15 grams of marijuana in his underwear.
James was cited for possession of marijuana, while Langston was arrested for possessing MDMA.
Langston was given a $2,000 unsecured bond on the charge of felony possession of MDMA.
The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement team followed suit with two drug arrests of its own, one on Friday and the other on Sunday.
A deputy stopped a car Friday and discovered a passenger, identified as Emily Gayle Albright, 29, of 1102 Stuart St., had active warrants for her arrest.
The deputy got consent to search the car and reportedly found drugs inside.
The ACE Team assisted in the stop, and Albright was charged with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and order for arrest/failure to appear.
She was put in the Wayne County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
Then on Sunday, the ACE Team stopped Robert Aaron Kearney, 45, of 1869 Big Daddy's Road, Pikeville, on I-795 near the U.S. 70 Bypass.
Kearney allegedly had methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his possession, and his passenger, Tonya Price, reportedly also had paraphernalia.
Price was cited and released, but Kearney was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license revoked.
He was given a $2,500 unsecured bond on the charges.
